KN:IX connect
Alliance for the prevention of islamism
KN:IX connect was launched in early 2025 by IFAK e. V., ufuq.de, modus|zad and BAG RelEx. Together, we see the task of KN:IX connect as strengthening networking among actors in the field of Islamism prevention, sharing and further developing professional expertise. The expertise and knowledge are to be made available to a broad circle of actors and interested parties. The target groups include colleagues working in the field of Islamism prevention and related fields, multipliers and specialists from schools, academia, administration and (security) authorities, as well as state democracy centres and partnerships for democracy. In addition, we are available as contact persons for politicians and the media.
The aim of KN:IX connect is to strengthen Islamism prevention at the federal level in the long term and to support the further development of professional practice. To this end, we are strengthening and expanding the nationwide civil society infrastructure that combats Islamist extremism in Germany in a needs-oriented manner with elements of democracy promotion, prevention and distancing work.
KN:IX connect provides expertise, training opportunities and materials, and further develops existing prevention approaches. As part of the network, we conduct ongoing monitoring and assessments to gain an overview of developments in the Islamist scene and to be able to respond to the needs of prevention actors with tailored approaches. Professional debates are addressed in various formats such as podcasts, expert events and publications. Regular professional exchanges and networking activities with actors from civil society, academia, administration and security authorities serve to identify needs and provide further training for professionals in the field.
KN:IX connect is the cooperation network for ‘Islamist Extremism Prevention’ in the programme area Development of a Federal Central Infrastructure in the Federal Programme “Live Democracy!“ of the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
With KN:IX connect, we are continuing and further developing the work of the Competence Network on Islamist Extremism (KN:IX, 2020-2024).
